Council adopts FY2023 Budget
On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Anna City Council adopted the FY2023 Budget, authorized the issuance and sale General Obligation Bonds, and Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation. They also heard updates from staff on upcoming recreation activities, bond rating agency results, development projects and more. Watch the recording.

Anna celebrates opening of new municipal complex
A sizable contingent of residents gathered in front of the new Anna Municipal Complex to witness a major local milestone on Sept. 13. They watched as Mayor Nate Pike cut a ceremonial blue ribbon officially dedicating the new facility. He was flanked by the current city council, staff members, and others who played a part in the building’s construction.

“It is such a special day in Anna Texas,” Pike said. “We are definitely adding a new chapter into our history.” Read more

AnnaFest to be held Oct. 1
A new festival will debut in Anna next month. The city will host its first AnnaFest at the new municipal complex from 3:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

Billed as a “Texas Sized Celebration” the lone star-themed event will feature western game booths, groups performing western- style showdowns, mechanical bull rides, axe throwing, ballet Folklorico dancers and armadillo races. Read the full article. View the event website.

The splash pad at Slayter Creek Park will soon undergo major renovation. We would like to invite our neighbors to a public input opportunity on Sept. 19 at the Parks Advisory Board. Share your ideas for preferred features, theme and amenities.

Have you picked a day to pick up litter?
The annual Fall Sweep starts Monday, Sept. 19. Neighbors are encouraged to pick up litter and trash at their own pace and then record their achievement. Register to participate in Fall Sweep. The individual or group who collects the most trash earns a prize!
