Music Lovers Unite

Saturday, December 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

If you love music, come to the Cape Canaveral Library the 3rd Saturday of each month to jam, jaw or just listen to music with your fellow music lovers! Everyone is welcome to bring whatever instrument that can be hand-carried in one trip to the library meeting room. Steve Hauser will be facilitating the Music Lovers Unite gatherings.

Music Monday: Home for the Holidays

Monday, December 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Join your Cape Canaveral “family” at the library to celebrate the holidays with a performance by the gifted Living by the Stream. Singing along will be highly encouraged and hot chocolate and snacks will be provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Canaveral Library.

CITY COUNCIL

- Prepared for, hosted virtual portion for and attended the December 6, 2022 Regular Meeting.

- Continued preparing and reviewing agenda and items for the December 20, 2022 Security Session, Regular Meeting.

BID #2022-06 AUDIO AND VIDEO PRODUCTION SERVICES/UPGRADE

- Attended Bid opening; One (1) submittal was received.

OTHER ITEMS

- Attended Directors Meeting

- Met with Departmental Directors and City Manager throughout the week regarding current, ongoing and future projects and initiatives

City Manager's Office

- Communicated with Mayor and Council Members regarding various items and initiatives.

- With Resilience Division Staff, visited BEEP Headquarters in Orlando to receive a presentation/demonstration on their micro-mobility company that is currently involved in several pilot programs across the state which incorporate small autonomous all-electric shuttle buses into communities for “last-mile” commuting solutions. The program may be of interest to Space Coast Area Transit.

- Met virtually with Council Member Willis, to test remote access and to discuss the Agenda Items for the December 6, 2022 Regular City Council Meeting.

- Met with Capital Projects Director, and Capital Projects Deputy Director to discuss an Addendum to the City Engineer RFP.

- Met with Parks, Recreation & Community Affairs Director to review the “Report a Concern” process utilized by the City and implement improvements.

- Attended the December 6, 2022 Regular City Council Meeting.

- Attended the monthly post-Council Director/Staff meeting.

- Met with Staff to review the upcoming Shorter, Effective/Efficient Meetings Agenda Item.

- Hosted Coffee with the City Manager on Friday, December 9, 2022 (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.) at Manatee Sanctuary Park.  This open forum event occurs monthly, allowing community to come meet with the City Manager, talk about items of interest and to get questions answered.

Congratulations to Council Members Kim Davis and Mickie Kellum who were sworn in for their new term at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
