CITY OF CASSELBERRY PREPARES FOR HURRICANE IAN
Casselberry, FL, September 27, 2022, 4:00 p.m. – The City of Casselberry is diligently making preparations at all City facilities and parks for the impacts of Hurricane Ian.
STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED
The City Manager declared a state of public emergency in the City as of 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, which was confirmed by the City Commission later that evening via Resolution 22-3336. This means that the government can suspend and/or change some functions during this period of time. It alerts citizens to change their normal behavior and orders government agencies to implement emergency plans. A Local State of Emergency allows the City to take special protective measures and utilize contracts. The State of Florida and Seminole County have also declared a state of public emergency because of Hurricane Ian.
CLOSURES
City Hall and all City Facilities will be closed beginning Wednesday, September 28th and will reopen on Monday, October 3rd. This includes the Casselberry Recreation Center, Art House and Sculpture House. The Concord Park Splash Pad is also closed.
CANCELLATIONS
All scheduled recreation activities and art classes have been cancelled beginning the evening of Tuesday, September 27th until further notice. This includes any rentals at any facilities.
