City of Casselberry News - Water Usage Advisory - Urgent

Government and Politics

October 7, 2022

From: City of Casselberry

The WATER USAGE ADVISORY is still in effect for ALL customers in the City of Casselberry of Utilities System.  The wastewater plants are still experiencing sewage overflows which can result in sewage back ups into homes and businesses.  The City is urging customers to only use water for essential functions until further notice to help ease the pressure off of the wastewater plants, and the sanitary sewage system.  Every gallon conserved helps lower the extreme flows into the system.

Please take the following conservation measures until further notice:

  1. Delay doing laundry as long as possible; then do essential large loads only.
  2. Delay washing dishes; use paper products temporarily or whenever possible.
  3. Limit toilet flushing.
  4. Don’t take long showers.
  5. Any Other Excessive Use of Water That is Not Absolutely Necessary.

These conservation measures are to reduce flows into the sewage treatment system.  Local flood waters in Casselberry have substantially receded, therefore irrigation system usage, vehicle washing, and pressure washing may resume, as these uses will no longer overburden the system.

Your conservation efforts so far have made a tremendous difference and the system is well on its way to returning to normal flows.   Thank you.  This Water Usage Advisory is in effect until further notice.  For more information, please visit www.casselberry.org or call the City of Casselberry Public Works and Utilities Department at (407) 262-7725.
