From: City of Davis

In partnership with the Yolo County Health Department, the City of Davis will offer free flu shots and COVID-19 bivalent booster shots (Pfizer brand) on Tuesday, November 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center located at 646 A Street. Masks will be required inside the clinic.

Residents can get both the flu shot and COVID-19 booster at the same time if they wish. No appointments are necessary. Only the standard flu shot dose will be available at this clinic not the high dose version. This clinic will not offer the primary series COVID-19 vaccines – just the bivalent booster shot.

The bivalent booster provides expanded protection against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, including the currently dominant Omicron variants. Everyone six years old and older who have already completed their primary COVID vaccine series is recommended to receive a single dose of a bivalent booster if at least 2 months has passed since their last dose of a COVID vaccine. Those who have had COVID-19 recently can come to the clinic once they have completed their isolation period.

Along with the potential for rising COVID-19 cases this fall and winter comes the likelihood of a significant flu season. Residents can protect themselves against influenza infection, severe disease, hospitalization and death by getting a flu vaccine every fall. Flu vaccines are recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
