The City of Davis Natural Resources Commission announced today that nominations are now open for the 29th Annual Environmental Recognition Awards. The deadline for nominations is March 15, 2023. 

Each year, the Environmental Recognition Awards recognizes a business, individual/group and non-profit organization that has contributed to Davis' environmental quality of life. In addition, a special acknowledgement called the Environmental Legacy Award may be given that distinguishes an individual or group that has made a significant environmental quality of life difference in Davis. 

A ceremonial presentation and reception will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, for awardees. 

“Commitment to environmental stewardship is one of the hallmarks of the Davis community,” said Davis Mayor Will Arnold. “We are proud to recognize those organizations and individuals that contribute to the sustainability of Davis.”

Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to:

• Nominee’s actions addressing a current environmental concern.
• Nominee’s track record of achievements or actions benefiting the environment and quality of life in and around Davis, with commitment to continued effort long term.
• Nominee’s creative implementation or development of an innovative project related to sustainability or the environment.
