Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with events and activities.

Enjoy music, dance and art: Join Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and the Music Institute of Chicago for their "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration" on Sunday, Jan. 15, 3 p.m., at Nichols Concert Hall.

Learn about his legacy: Evanston Public Library is offering educational and service events for all ages, including film screenings, a moving re-enactment of the "I Have a Dream" speech, and more.

COVID-19 Update

Cases: Evanston reported 105 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last seven days, compared to 114 for the week prior. The current seven-day moving average of daily confirmed cases is 15. 

COVID-19 Community Risk Level: LOW. 

Hospitalizations: View local COVID-19 hospitalizations.

MLK holiday schedule

The City has announced changes in service delivery and facility schedules in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 16.

Have you recently completed a sewer repair? 

You may be eligible for the City's Sewer Repair Financial Assistance Program! The City will provide financial assistance to income-qualified community members who've completed sewer repairs in 2021 or later to alleviate a public nuisance, hazardous condition and environmental threat.

Property tax due date pushed to April 3

Cook County property owners will now have an extra month to pay their First Installment property taxes. The new due date for those property tax bills is April 3, 2023. First Installment bills are currently available online.
