ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

The City's Forney Economic Development Director, Lynn Spencer, gave a presentation on the latest retail projects in Forney. There are new committed businesses and even more in negotiation to join the Forney market. Below are some of the major retail highlights. The full EDC presentation can be found here, that includes the estimated time frame for the future Gateway Town Center to be located on the north side of Highway 80, on the other side of the Light Industrial District.

ARPA GRANT

The deadline to apply for an ARPA grant is this Friday, November 4th. Households, small businesses, and non-profits may be eligible for a grant under the American Rescue Plan Act. For more information and to apply, residents can go ForneyTX.gov/ARPA.

CAR SEAT SAFETY PROGRAM

The Forney Fire Department announced its Seat Safety Program! Forney residents and households in Forney ISD’s jurisdiction can schedule an appointment with the Forney Fire Department to provide car seat installation training.
