On May 22, 2022 at approximately 1:15 p.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to #25 Covington Drive for a reported structure fire. When fire department crews arrived they found a detached garage fully involved with fire. Due to the amount of fire involved and a sagging roof when crews arrived, the Incident Commander elected to perform a defensive fire attack. There were several vehicles inside the garage and in the driveway that were damaged and contributed to the amount of fire.

The fire was brought under control in approximately thirty minutes with no reported injuries. The Longview Fire Department responded with 3 fire engines, 3 ladder trucks, 1 ambulance and 4 support vehicles for a total of 24 personnel.
