A cast member from the hit Netflix Original Series "Stranger Things" has  lent her support to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center's "Shelter Things" Adoption Campaign.

Henrix Yancey played Number 013, a test subject in the Hawkins Lab, in the science fiction hit science fiction show.  Now, Yancey is urging her fans to help the Longview adoption facility clear the shelters during the month of October.

"Shelter things are happening in a small East Texas town, not much different from Hawkins, Indiana, where a local shelter has turned itself upside down to try to get all its animals adopted," Yancey said in the video.  "Let's help get all these animals adopted out.  Stranger things have happened, right?"

The Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center regularly uses pop culture to help attract attention and promote adoptions.  The "Shelter Things" promotion included decorating the entire facility, commemorative t-shirts, and "Stranger Things" themed posts.

The campaign will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 29, with the Upside Down Walk Around from 2 - 4 p.m.  This trunk or treat carnival includes costumes, games, decorations, and more.
