On Wednesday, November 16th, City of Milton Mayor Heather Lindsay received two checks from Steve Rhodes of the Florida Power & Light Company on behalf of the city totaling $40,000.00.  These funds were given to the city for use on two of its most recent projects.

Of the money received by the city, $15,000 was dedicated to purchasing and installing shade structures at Lucille Johnson Park.  Located at the intersection of Jasmine and Mary Streets, Lucille Johnson Park, was recently the subject of a nearly $180,000 improvement project undertaken by the city that saw the park almost entirely rebuilt.

The remaining $25,000 given by FPL is intended to pair with a city donation of $55,000 to assist Santa Rosa County in installing a security fence at Milton High School to help keep our students safe.

“The City of Milton is grateful for the generous support of FPL for these important projects,” Mayor Lindsay said.
