Norwich, CT.  The City of Norwich announces the recent launch of Envision Norwich 360 - a new digital community engagement platform, powered by CitizenLab. The platform will provide residents, businesses, and property owners with a central online hub where they can learn about ongoing City projects and initiatives, share ideas, discuss proposals with fellow community members, and make their voice heard on the issues that matter to them.

The City of Norwich recognized a need for more civic engagement and is excited to launch a forward-thinking, digital solution so its community members can be informed and engaged wherever they are, whenever they’re available. Using this inclusive approach and innovative technology will make it easier for the public to become involved in City projects. The City plans to launch numerous initiatives this year, including developing and adopting a new ten year Plan of Conservation and Development, and getting public feedback to inform the Yale Urban Design Workshop study of Lower Broadway Street.

The goal of the Envision Norwich 360 platform is to include the community voice more often and in a more substantive way in local decision-making processes, as well as to increase transparency about how decisions are made. Residents and stakeholders can use Envision Norwich 360 to get informed, ask questions, and provide feedback about City initiatives. “One of our City’s goals is to determine which transformative project we should submit for our grant application for the next round of DECD Community Investment Fund 2030”, said Kevin Brown, President of Norwich Community Development Corporation.  “Our Envision Norwich 360 platform helps us do that, and we encourage all residents to join and become active participants in their local government.”

Envision Norwich 360 currently features four projects and allows users the ability to submit an idea that others can view and support. To register and start participating visit envisionnorwich360.com or click on the 06360 button located at the top of the main page of the City’s website: norwichct.org
