Port Arthur volunteers who wish to be a part of this year's Point-in-Time (PIT) count of the area's homeless individuals and families, please follow the instructions below:

Remember that there are 3 steps to becoming a PIT Day volunteer.

-Register using our Volunteer Sign-Up website. You will be able to select your geographic area, your desired time slot, and your desired role.

-Complete one volunteer training session. You can complete the Online Volunteer Training  by Tuesday, January 24th. The training is broken into modules and you should be able to complete it in about one hour. Or, you can complete the face-to-face version on Saturday, January 21st beginning at 10:00 a.m. CT at Legacy CDC, Port Arthur, 3025 Plaza Cir, Port Arthur, TX 77642.

-Register for the Counting Us App through the Texas Homeless Network. Remember that the pass code is TX2023 and that you must select our region (Jefferson, Orange, and Hardin Counties). Once you download the app, you can practice using the survey in the app up until 11:59 p.m. the night before PIT Day begins.

On Monday, you will receive a confirmation email for your selected volunteer shifts. It will include the address of where to go to check in on PIT Day along with any additional last minute instructions that may have arisen.
