Government and Politics

December 1, 2022

From: City Of Stockton

The City of Stockton Community Development Department is offering an open house meeting for community members to provide feedback on approaches to addressing design for citywide and neighborhood development. All members of the community are encouraged to participate:
Saturday, January 7, 2023, 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.
Caesar Chavez Library
605 N. El Dorado Street, Stockton 95202

These planning efforts will result in an overhaul of the City’s Development Code and Design Standards and significantly modify the City's zoning code standards (design and property use) used for entitlement, business license, code enforcement, and building permit reviews. The Design Standards go beyond zoning requirements to provide specific requirements on building orientation, architecture, and onsite amenities. To ensure that existing City efforts are coordinated, the Community Development Department has been hosting community meetings and gathering information through a planning process collectively identified as Shape Stockton. Shape Stockton also includes the Neighborhood Action Plans, Housing Element Update, and citywide Housing Action Plan.

A Spanish-language interpreter will be available at the Open House. If information is needed in languages other than English and Spanish or in an alternative format, please call (209) 937-7220 at least five days in advance. Advance notification will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements and to ensure accessibility.

Additional information, including upcoming meetings, is available at www.stocktonca.gov/ShapeStockton. Community members are encouraged to contact theCity of Stockton with any suggestions or questions. Please email [email protected] or call (209) 937-7220.
