City Of Stockton Seeking Nonprofit And Community Organization Proposals

Government and Politics

August 10, 2022

From: City Of Stockton

The City of Stockton has issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Community Support Grant Program. This program will fund grants to organizations delivering approved projects and activities that respond to various COVID-19 related impacts. The program goal is to fund the delivery of services that help address
needs that are current unmet in our community and that have escalated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Completed proposals must be submitted and received by the City of Stockton by the project deadline, which is Monday, September 12, 2022, noon (12:00 p.m.).

During the pandemic the City of Stockton has been able to partner with several organizations and nonprofits to provide grants. This grant funding has allowed organizations to rapidly increase capacity, respond to needs, be creative, problem solve and be nimble in responding to community needs. Examples include the 49 grants offered through the Community Support NOFA that was launched in September of 2020, which funded a youth homeless shelter at the Children’s Home of Stockton (CATALYST), food distribution support, and many more. The funding for many of these critical programs is expiring.

This Community Support Grant Program NOFA opportunity will allow the City to award funds for existing, previously funded successful programs, new programs, and create opportunities to partner with local organizations and non-profits. The City intends to issue grants of between $50,000 to $500,000 to awarded applicants. A total of $2.7 million in funding is available. The goal is to provide the necessary resources for organizations and nonprofits to get new programs launched, to continue existing successful programs, and to develop self-sustaining measures.

This project is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. The City of Stockton will accept and review all proposals that meet the program guidelines and requirements.

To be considered for this funding opportunity, applications submitted must address and meet all requirements in the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Community Support Grant Program. This document is available at www.stocktonca.gov/EDD. Proposals should describe how unmet needs such as housing, homelessness, shelter programs and services, youth programs, and/or small business support, are or will be addressed. Other programs that meet American Rescue Plan Act guidelines, including, but not limited to, programs that demonstrate capacity to serve low-income households and drive equitable recovery from the pandemic, may also qualify for funding.
