City of Sugar Land News - Ways to Help the Sugar Land Animal Shelter

Government and Politics

October 29, 2022

From: City Of Sugar Land

The recent rescue of over 138 cats from a hoarding case put the Sugar Land Animal Shelter in crisis mode. Over the last week, we have setup a temporary shelter to house these animals, redirected employees from other departments to help at the shelter, and activated the city's Emergency Operations Center to better coordinate these efforts and enable us to access state support resources. In addition, we have coordinated with other shelters, rescue groups and agencies in the region and have moved some animals to other shelters.

We have also seen the outpouring of support from our community in the form of donations to the shelter. We truly could not do this without you!

Consider Giving

The shelter is accepting donations. Please visit the online wishlist to see needed items.
