Clawson's Freedom Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run

7:00pm: Free Fun Run at Clawson Park
7:30pm: 5K Freedom Run at Clawson Park

We are excited to host this unique evening race that takes runners down the tree lined streets of Clawson.
Race Day packet pick-up is from 6:00–7:15pm.

5k starts at 7:30 pm
Kid's 1-mile starts at 7:00 pm
Race-Day Registration is only $25, and will include a t-shirt while supplies last.

Course:

The course was certified in 2019. Starting line is at the north entrance of Clawson City Park.
The route patrolled by 36 guards. 1 mile and 2 mile splits are read aloud and there is a water station after two miles.

Timing: Chip-timing for the 5k is handled by Eastside Racing Company

Awards:

There is a $100 prize for top combined finishers in the 5k Freedom Run and the Firecracker Mile.

The prize will be awarded in 4 categories: Women under 40, Women 40 and over, Men under 40, and Men 40 and over.

Runners who compete in both events will have their overall finish places summed and the runners with the lowest score will win. In the event of a tie the tying runner with the lowest combined time will win.

Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women, as well as the top man and top woman in each age group.

Age Groups:

12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 25-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over

Medals will be awarded to the first 50 men and first 50 women to cross the finish line.

Registration Fee:
$12 before March 13th, $18 until June 1st, $20 after June 1st. $25 on Race-day Or, Pre-Register before March 13th for both the Freedom Run and Firecracker Mile (July 4) for only $20!

Register before June 10th to be guaranteed a shirt in your size with the new logo!

1-MILE FUN RUN

This race is run on the woodchip path in Clawson Park. The race will begin at 7:00 p.m. This is a traditional start. There is no chip timing for the 1-mile run. Awards will be given to the top 3 boys under the age of 13 and the top 3 girls under the age of 13. This is a FREE race. Pre-register online for FREE and order a t-shirt for only $5. There is no race day registration this year. All runners must preregister online.

11:00am: Kiddie Parade at CMS Parking Lot to Clawson Park

We start at Clawson Middle School Parking lot and travel down Phillips avenue to North Custer avenue and end at Clawson City Park!

Refreshments for sale at the park!

Bike Category Age Groups: 0-4yr, 5-8ys and 9 & up

Judging will take place at 10:30am

Everyone is welcome to come and watch! Grab a lawn chair and join us!

July 3, 2022

3pm-9pm: Arts and Craft Fair at Clawson Park

The Clawson Fourth of July Committee will hold an Arts and Crafts Show in Clawson City Park (picnic area on West Elmwood) on MONDAY, JULY 4, 2022 from 10 am to 6 pm.

There will be a special BONUS DAY, SUNDAY, JULY 3, 2022 from 3 pm to 8 pm. The additional fee for the BONUS DAY is only $5 per space

The Arts and Crafts Show is held along with Clawson’s Fourth of July Celebration.  The day of the 4th includes a Firecracker Mile Race, morning parade, concessions, and evening fireworks.

9:00am: Firecracker Mile at Clawson Center

The 2022 Firecracker Mile is one of the best miles in Midwest. Whether you are racing for a cash prize, trophy, medal, or for the joy of the run, this is the race for you.

The race will start at 9:00 a.m. Arrive early because 14 Mile Rd. will close about 8:30 a.m.

The Course: This is a USATF certified (2019) flat mile. The race starts at Crooks Rd. and runs straight down 14 Mile Rd. to the finish line at Main Street. Thousands of spectators and fans line the entire course to cheer you throughout the run.

Course Map

Times: Splits are read after each quarter mile. Eastside Racing Company will provide official times for all runners.

Awards: In addition to cash prizes, trophies will be awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women. Medals will be awarded to the top 50 men and top 50 women.

T-shirts for all pre-registered runners.

Registration Fee: $12 before March 13th, $18 until June 1st, $20 after June 1st. $25 on Race-day Or, Pre-Register before March 13th for both races for only $20!

This year, the stage will just south of the Clawson Skate Park on the opposite side of the park. There will also be carnival concession food/drinks, art in the park (a ton of vendors), games and more!
