From: Columbia Basin Junior Livestock ShowThe purpose of this organization shall be the positive development of youth through the improvement of their life skills, i.e. accepting responsibility, cultivating citizenship, developing leadership, social, and communication skills; provide the opportunity to have their animals appraised by the most competent judges : to experience victory or defeat; providing an educational experience in which they learn about the economic value of desirable market traits and how to recognize those traits; improve their skills in animal care, animal products and how they are produced; present them with the challenge of helping to educate the general public of what livestock production is and what it involves; providing the opportunity to meet and become acquainted with business leaders and those who buy their animals and help support the show

Office Hours: Official 4-H & FFA Record Books for judging purposes are required to be turned in at the Benton Franklin County Extension office or to Heidi Shattuck at Connell High School
September 4, 2022
12:00 p.m.: Camp Trailers may arrive on the CBJLS Grounds. Club displays can go up now thru Wednesday. All displays must be completed by Wednesday at 1:00 pm prior to animals being weighed-in, no exceptions.
September 7, 2022
All exhibitors must bring completed market animal cost sheet to weigh-in Market Animal Cost Sheet (sample)
1:00-6:00 p.m.: Swine Weigh-in must have completed Health Record
2:00-6:00 p.m. Lamb Weigh-in must have Scrapies Identification and completed Health Record
5:00-7:00 p.m.: Steer Weigh-in must have completed Health Record, Tyson Supplier Affidavit, transfer slip from breeder to exhibitor and transfer slip from exhibitor to CBJLS
7:00 p.m.: Poster Contest entries due at show office

8:00 a.m.: Herdsmanship Begins
8:00-8:30 a.m.: Exhibitors, parents, and staff meeting in livestock pavilion Attendance Mandatory
8:30 a.m.: Beef, Swine and Lamb Showmanship Preview
9:00 a.m.: Steer, Swine, and Lamb Market Classes begin - Championships Follow
Parent/Family Showmanship Class - begins after completion of Market Classes
4:30-6:00 p.m. Tractor Competition
7:00 p.m.: Herdsmanship Ends
