COLUMBIA FARMERS MARKET WEDNESDAY MARKET KICKS OFF MAY 24TH

Columbia, MO - Starting May 24th, Columbia Farmers Market brings back the popular Wednesday Market, held on Wednesdays from 3-7 pm. With close to 30 vendors signed up to sell, the market will offer fresh produce, meat, farm-fresh eggs, honey, cut flowers, plants, baked goods, food trucks, and more. Additionally, in partnership with Columbia Parks and Recreation, a Food Truck Roundup will be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, alongside the market. The market and its food truck vendors will be there every Wednesday, from May 24th-September 27th. Live music and free children’s activities will also be held at each market.

Columbia Farmers Market, a nonprofit, is a year-round farmers market in Columbia, Missouri. As a producer-only market, everything sold is grown or made by the farmers and artisans who help sustain our mid-Missouri region. Open since 1980, CFM is the largest in mid-Missouri with over 80 vendors on Saturdays, who provide a diverse offering of locally grown agricultural and artisan products from within 50 miles of Columbia. In 2022, the market saw the best year in its 42 years of being open, breaking all records. In 2021 and 2022, it was voted one of the top two farmers markets in the nation, and #1 in Missouri, by American Farmland Trust. It had the highest number of customers ever visiting the market, with over 196,000 shoppers in 2022. The vendors sold over $3,700,000 in locally grown and produced items in 2022. CFM dispensed $111,940 in food incentives funds, such as SNAP/WIC matching and a Produce Prescription Program, and another $59,521 in SNAP funds. For more information about the success of CFM in 2022, view its annual report.

The market offers a unique gathering space for the mid-Missouri community, where people come together to shop with their local producers, connect with their neighbors, learn about local agriculture, and eat delicious, nutritious food!  Columbia Farmers Market strives to be an accessible, inclusive resource where our next generation of producers can utilize our programming and the expertise of our other members. As one customer stated, “Columbia Farmers Market feels like home! Beyond great produce, meat, cheese, and other yummy and nutritious foods and products, but the whole experience is a bright, loving, social event for all. I love Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons at the market and would be thrilled to see every community with such a place for fun, food, and “family.”
