September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month

Get a library card for yourself, or tell a friend so they can get a card of their very own. Discover More about all of the benefits that cardholders receive and find a link to apply here. Personalize your library experience by coming into a branch to collect:

 - A limited edition Discover More library card for new cardholders and current cardholders who want to swap their card for the new design.

 - A bookmark with stickers that you can use to express your personal library style.

 - Automobile magnets to purchase for $1 so you can show your support of DCPL to everyone.

Connect, Play, Learn and Grow with Learning Spaces

This multigenerational program at Wesley Chapel-William C. Brown Library provides a quality, formal preschool experience before children start kindergarten. Trained facilitators will coach families to incorporate language and literacy practices at home. Support for Learning Spaces is provided by United Way of Greater Atlanta and Pollyanna's Place, Inc. Enjoy a Performance by La Candela Flamenco

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with a performance by internationally renowned flamenco dancer Ania Bartelmus. This immersive show will explore the cultural exchange between Spain and Latin America through the language of flamenco. Don't miss this special event on Saturday, September 30 at noon at Northlake-Barbara Loar Library. Find more information here.

The Jubilee Reader – September/October 2023 Edition

Issue 7 of the Jubilee Reader features 79 books that span nearly every genre. Published six times a year, the Reader places a spotlight on new books in the library collection by African American writers and authors from the African diaspora. Read the latest edition here.

Help Us Close the Digital Divide

The DeKalb Library Foundation funds close to 300 Wi-Fi hotspot devices available for check out across DeKalb County Public Library's 23 locations. More than 2,700 patrons benefitted from this service over the past year. In a recent survey, more than 75% of responding users shared they have limited to no internet access in their homes. We want your help to provide funding for this invaluable service. The gift you make today will allow us to continue to close the digital divide that exists in our community. The Book As Art v.11: Myth & Mag­ic

Presented by Georgia Center for the Book and the Decatur Arts Alliance, The Book As Art v.11: Myth & Mag­ic exhibit opens on Sep­tem­ber 7 and runs through Octo­ber 30, 2023 in the 4th Floor Gallery of Decatur Library. The Book as Art showcases beautifully made volumes, sculptural and conceptual interpretations, and one-of-a-kind approaches to the book format.
