A festival of music, food, and youth education. The Dodge County Fair is the area’s main event with three nights of concerts on an outdoor stage surrounded by area youth exhibits and fabulous fried food. The music festival and concert venue entertain country and rock concert goers from throughout the state of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.

Schedule of Events:

August 17, 2022:

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Junior Fair Market Hog Show

A judging event for 4-H youth entered in the swine project, held in the Junior Livestock Building. Swine are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness. The Market Hog Show is a terminal show.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Fruit and Vegetables Judging

What’s growing in Dodge County youth’s garden? Exhibits are evaluated in the Danish judging system focusing on quality, uniformity, health, appearance, and more!

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Foods Judging

Whether your like to wow your family with decorative cakes or you prefer to make your guests cry over canned salsa so good the flavor lingers for days, there’s a category for everything.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Home Furnishings Judging

Everything from stuffed animals to counted cross stitch to centerpieces. There’s sure to be a category for your latest Internet-inspired craft project.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Flowers Judging

Fair goers can mosey under the grandstand during the fair and discover the world of Dodge County’s open-class flowers division. Spectacular exhibits range from bouquets of one variety and potted plants to artistic arrangements and themed compositions.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Honey Judging

Beekeeping is a popular hobby in the Dodge and Jefferson-county area for the fellowship and education it provides. The honey open-class division presents beekeepers with the opportunity to exhibit the fruits of their trade in competition.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Farm Crops, Vegetables, and Fruits Judging

Farming has deep roots in Dodge County, and love for the land is evident in the exhibits featured in the open-class farm crops, vegetables, and fruits division.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Open Class Clothing Judging

The open-class clothing division features two basic classes: children’s garments, consisting of about 20 different categories, and adult garments, which includes more than 25 categories.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Clothing Exhibit Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth exhibiting clothing projects. These exhibits are original work of the exhibitor and are made as part of a supervised project activity outside of regular school classes.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Cake Decorating Judging

Exhibitors participate in this Danish style judging where items are evaluated on technique with frosting, fondant, gum paste and more! Creativity, placement, and presentation are highlighted in this popular class.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Knitting and Crocheting Judging

Youth bring their exhibits to be judged face to face and receive comments/questions. Entries are judged and displayed in the Youth Building at the northeast corner of the Fairgrounds.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Photography Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth who have captured images in photography projects. Exhibits are evaluated in the Danish judging system with a focus composition, mounting care, technique, and image quality.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Child Development and Home Environment Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth in home, family, and child development projects. Youth are judged face to face on articles made for home use and/or for child development.

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Open Class Cultural Arts Judging

Dust off your brushes, sharpen your cutting blades, and replenish your paint selection, because the open-class cultural-arts division is calling all exhibitors with an artistic flair.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Junior Fair Beef Breeding and Feeder Calves Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth competing in Beef Breeding and Feeder projects. Beef cattle are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness.

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Open Class Beef Cattle Judging

Breeds include Shorthorn, Angus, Hereford, and a class for other beef breeds together. Age classifications include junior calf, senior calf, summer yearling, junior yearling, senior yearling, and cows two years and over.

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

The pigs, ducks and goats from Pleasure Valley Farm of nearby Adell, WI entertain with four shows daily during the Dodge County Fair.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Junior Fair Market Beef and Showmanship Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth entering livestock in the beef and beef feeder project. Beef cattle are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness.

12:00 PM - 5:30 PM: DJ Set by NSB Entertainment on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

Listen to DJ music from NSB Entertainment while enjoying food and drink at the Dodge County Fair.  Take a break while enjoying the sounds at the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Wednesday, August 17 from 12-5:30 PM.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Open Class Knitting and Crocheting Judging

Entries in this division are judged on suitability to purpose and design, evenness and perfection of stitches, neatness of blocking, and quality of seams and joinings.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Junior Fair Crops Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth to evaluate crops and garden projects they have been growing and caring for throughout the summer. Exhibits of crops are evaluated on quality, maturity, health, appearance, and more!

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Wristbands on the Midway – Wednesday Afternoon

Kids young and old will enjoy discounted and unlimited rides during Wristbands on the Midway Wednesday afternoon of the Fair. Ride as many rides as you like with the purchase of a $25 wristband from 1 to 5 PM.

2:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

The pigs, ducks and goats from Pleasure Valley Farm of nearby Adell, WI entertain with four shows daily during the Dodge County Fair.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Open Class Senior Citizens Judging

The senior citizen department is limited to exhibitors 62 years of age or older. It has four divisions: cultural arts, woodworking, knitting and crocheting, and home furnishings.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Open Class Photography Judging

One of the most popular open-class categories is AM: ateur photography. Entries in four different classes are judged on composition, clarity, and presentation.

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Nick’s Kids Show on W Midway Circle

Nicks Kids Show is a musically entertaining show for the entire family and invites Children on stage to be part of a Rock n Roll band. Everyone can participate in the Locomotion, The Freeze Dance, Hula Hoop, and much much more.

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Wild World of Animals on N Grand Avenue

Meet a variety of animals from the wild featuring 13 different animals from all over the world like AM: phibians, reptiles and birds of prey.

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Open Class Sheep Judging

Open-class sheep showing is available at the Dodge County Fair for numerous breeds: Shropshire, Corriedale and Colombias, Dorset, Horned Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk, and a class for any other breeds.

4:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

The pigs, ducks and goats from Pleasure Valley Farm of nearby Adell, WI entertain with four shows daily during the Dodge County Fair.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Junior Fair Explorer Judging

Youth exhibit up to 8 entries in a variety of subject areas that youth have explored throughout the year. Entries are judged and displayed in the Youth Building at the northeast corner of the Fairgrounds.

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Junior Fair Sheep Lead Class and Breeder Judging

Sheep are evaluated in the Junior Livestock Building arena for; functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness. All purebred breeding stock must be registered.

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Nick’s Kids Show on W Midway Circle

Nicks Kids Show is a musically entertaining show for the entire family and invites Children on stage to be part of a Rock n Roll band. Everyone can participate in the Locomotion, The Freeze Dance, Hula Hoop, and much much more.

5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Junior Fair Market Lamb Showmanship Judging

The junior market lambs exhibit purpose is to encourage young people to produce and exhibit high-quality lambs as part of their farming program.

5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Wild World of Animals on N Grand Avenue

Meet a variety of animals from the wild featuring 13 different animals from all over the world like AM: phibians, reptiles and birds of prey.

6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

The pigs, ducks and goats from Pleasure Valley Farm of nearby Adell, WI entertain with four shows daily during the Dodge County Fair.

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Junior Fair Dog Obedience Performance Show

Youth showcase ability in dog handling and performance a result of training, obedience, and showmanship classes that take place prior to the fair.

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Wristbands on the Midway – Wednesday Evening

Kids young and old will enjoy discounted and unlimited rides during Wristbands on the Midway Wednesday evening of the Fair. Ride as many rides as you like with the purchase of a $25 wristband from 6 to 10 PM.

7:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Badger State Truck and Tractor Pull

Badger State Tractor Pullers is the premier pulling association in the State of Wisconsin. Two tracks will provide non-stop entertainment for the whole family. Vehicles will navigate the tracks going over 25 mph, pulling a sled weighing 40,000 pounds.

August 18, 2022:

8:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Rabbit and Cavy Judging

Youth participate in Danish judging and animals are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness. Judging is held in the Small Animal Building on the northwest corner of the Fairgrounds.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Junior Fair Cultural Arts, Communication Arts, Natural Science, Electricity, Mechanical Project, Animal Science, and Youth Leadership Self-Determined Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth participating in Cultural Arts, Communication Arts, Natural Science, Electricity, Mechanical Project, Animal Science, and Youth Leadership Self-Determined projects.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Junior Fair Dairy Show

A judging event for 4-H youth participating in the dairy project. Dairy breeds are evaluated on functionality, frame, balance, and udder characteristics.

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

The pigs, ducks and goats from Pleasure Valley Farm of nearby Adell, WI entertain with four shows daily during the Dodge County Fair.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: John Gay on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

John Gay is a signer and songwriter with acoustic originals and covers of artists like Jason Isbell, The Lumineers, Chris Stapleton, and Zach Williams.  See John on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Thursday, August 18 from 12-1:30 PM.

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Kids Day Wristbands on the Midway

Kids Day on the Midway features unlimited rides with the purchase of a $20 wristband on the midway.  Ride as many rides as you like with a wristband from 1 to 5 PM:  followed by Thursday evening Wristbands on the Midway.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Junior Fair Computer Exhibits Judging

A judging event for 4-H youth who have entered projects in the Computer exhibitor category. Exhibits are evaluated on quality, workmanship, finishing, and storytelling.

2:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Chris Hodgson Acoustic on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

Chris Hodgson Acoustic is a 2019 WAMI nominated, former 19 year veteran/hired gun of the Las Vegas music scene, now lives in "WISCO N' SIN" as he puts it, where he performs a well thought out mix of covers, both old and new, as well as his often requested comedic originals.  See Chris on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Thursday, August 18 from 2-3:30 PM.

Support the youth of Dodge County at the Meat Animal Sale on Thursday in the Farm Progress Arena. Preregistered bidders/buyers are recognized with a free dinner preceding the auction. Each exhibitor, in order to sell, must participate in a number of educational activities, raise, and show an animal of top quality.

Walker has had eleven number one hits and seventeen top ten hits. Fans will recognize several of his 39 charted singles, spanning nearly three decades, like: “What’s it to You”, “Live Until I Die” and “This Woman and This Man”, AM: ong others.

9:30 PM - 11:30 PM: Music by the Madpolecats

The Madpolecats unique form of entertainment was developed by fusing together traditional bluegrass instruments with reggae/ska/punk influences, making rastabilly music or, skunkgrass.

August 19, 2022:

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Poultry Judging

Youth participate in Danish judging where animals are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Junior Fair Dairy Showmanship

Youth showcase their knowledge of dairy education and compete for a variety of showmanship awards such as top production, somatic cell count, and protein production.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Junior Britches Showmanship Contest

Youth entering grades 3-4 this school year show calves in the Junior Showmanship Contest. Judging will be based on proper showmanship techniques as demonstrated by the participant and how well the calf is trained. Organized by the Dodge County Dairy Youth Advisory Committee, the event was created to help promote interest in the Dairy Project.

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Upper Iowa University Kids Pedal Tractor Pull

Kids age 3 to 12 compete in age and weight classes in the Pedal Pull during the Dodge County Fair. Contestants should arrive 15 minutes early for registration, pedal tractors of different sizes provided.

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Open Class Dairy Cattle Judging

Animals are exhibited in the farm progress arena by adults or children wearing white pants and a white or colored shirt, belt, and close-toed shoes. Back tags will be provide and should be displayed on the back of each exhibitor.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: When Implied on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

When Implied is an alternative rock band based out of Madison, Wisconsin formed in 2021.  See them on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Friday, August 19 from 12-1:30 PM.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Junior Fair Music Performance Judging

Instrumental, vocal and piano performances by youth to demonstrate their 4-H music projects. Exhibitor performances are judged face to face in Radio Park in front of a live fair audience.

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Wristbands on the Midway – Friday Afternoon

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Contest

Arrive early to get a seat for the 26th annual Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Contest. In 2019, over two dozen contestants competed, Jason Luedtke with the Leipsig 4-H won the “Three ‘H’ and One ‘C’ No Hands Allowed” trophy with the evening's fastest time of 43-seconds.

Country singer and storyteller, Russell Dickerson will headline Friday evening at the 2022 Dodge County Fair. Dickerson’s fans and country music enthusiasts will appreciate hit after hit from his #5 Billboard Top Country Album, “Yours”. The album became gold-certified with popular hits like “Blue Tacoma”, “Every Little Thing” and title track, “Yours”.

9:30 PM - 11:30 PM: Music by FM Rodeo

Performing at venues and events throughout the state of Wisconsin, hometown Milwaukee, WI band FM Rodeo will entertain on the Radio Park Stage Friday night of the Dodge County Fair.

August 20, 2022:

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Junior Fair Goat Judging

Youth participate in Danish judging where goats are evaluated on functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Junior Fair Cat and Kitten Judging

Youth participate in Danish judging where animals are evaluated on general appearance and condition, temperament, hair, coat, paws, nails, and body build.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Horse Pull

Teams of horses pull the sled in front of the grandstands starting at 9 AM:  Saturday of the Fair. Breakfast will be available at the concession stand, plenty of seating in the grandstands.

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Junior Fair Younger Brother/Sister Exhibit Class

Younger brothers or sisters of any current 4-H member of younger children of a 4-H volunteer leader may bring 1 entry to the Dodge County Fair to be entered in the Youth Building on Entry Day before 7 PM.

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Warehouse 4 on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

Warehouse 4 is a classic rock cover band that enjoys playing songs the crowd can sing to and dance to from Madison, Wisconsin.  See them on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Saturday, August 20 from 12-1:30 PM.

12:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Family Day on the Midway

Enjoy half-price ride tickets during Family Day on the Midway from 12 to 5 PM. Get 20 discounted tickets for a special price of $10 - a 50% savings over regular prices! Special price ride tickets must be used during the promotion time of 12 thru 5 PM.

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Dodge County Holstein Futurity Show

Holstein breeders enter animals as calves and show the same animals as two-year-old cows after they've had their first calf. During the show, exhibitors parade their cows wearing formal attire. Every year, the show arena is filled to standing-room-only with spectators.

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Farm Tractor Pull

Who will pull the sled the farthest to take home the win? Area farmers compete in several classes on the clay track in front of the grandstands during the annual Dodge County Fair.

2:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Pig, Duck and Goat Races

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: 20 Minute Mission on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

20 Minute Mission is a rock/punk band from Madison, Wisconsin and performed at the Fair Food Festival earlier this year.  See them on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Saturday, August 20 from 2-3:30 PM.

Sabotage is a hard rock band based out of Madison, Wisconsin with original music and covers of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Metallica.  See them on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Saturday, August 20 from 4-5:30 PM.

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Small Animal Auction

All entries are blue and red ribbon winning. Rabbits, chickens, turkeys, ducks and more are going to be up for sale at this year's auction.

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Nick’s Kids Show on W Midway Circle

Top junior and senior showmen of the dairy, beef, sheep and swine projects will compete against each other in showing their own animal, and then showing animals in two other species. Don’t miss the chance to witness this newer contest showcasing the top livestock youth.

9:30 PM - 11:30 PM: Music by Whiskey Flats

See Whiskey Flats LIVE at the 95X Radio Park Stage on Saturday, August 20 from 9:30-11:30 PM:  following the concert at the Main Stage.  Whiskey Flats hit the Milwaukee music scene in the early 1980s.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Pernat Haase Meats 4WD Truck Pull

All four wheels spin as they pull the sled down the track during the annual Pernat Haase Meats Truck Pull at the Dodge County Fair. Locals compete with pullers from the Badger Truck Pullers Association and others throughout the state.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Little Flock Showmanship Contest

The Poultry Project is pleased to sponsor the Little Flock Showmanship Contest on Sunday in the Small Animal Building. To promote the interest and education of poultry, contestants will demonstrate their knowledge of proper showmanship information and handling techniques.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Pig Pals Swine Spectacular

An event for youth in 7th to 12th grade with intellectual disabilities like autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or other sensory-processing disorder. A pig show for youth with disabilities, at the Dodge County Fair swine and sheep barn arena on Sunday of the Fair at 10:30 AM.

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Dairy Youth Recognition Auction

The Dodge County Dairy Youth participating in the dairy project will again be recognized for their hard work at the Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Driving Buddies on the Homan Hometown Music Stage

Driving Buddies is a Waukesha/Milwaukee based original and covers piano and guitar duo.  See them on the Homan Hometown Music Stage near the Commercial Building on Sunday, August 21 from 12-1:30 PM.

Take time to attend the Little Bunny Huddle Showmanship Contest in the Small Animal Building during the Dodge County Fair. Contestants demonstrate their showmanship abilities with face-to-face judging followed by distribution of participation ribbons.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Junior Fair Model Horse Judging

Youth participate in Danish judging prepare the model and set up the entry on the judging table. Verbal assistance is permitted but all hands-on work should be done by the youth exhibitor.

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Demolition Derby

Fans fill the grandstands at 1 PM:  for the first of two Demo Derbies on Sunday of the Dodge County Fair. Oooh and Ahhh as cars, trucks and vans crash it out to qualify for the evening main event.
