Dodgers Activate Shelby Miller

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller from the bereavement list and designated left-handed pitcher Adam Kolarek for assignment.   

Miller, 32, missed three games while on the bereavement list. On the campaign, he is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA (8 ER/28.0 IP) and 29 strikeouts in 24 games. He has allowed 11 hits in 28 innings, holding hitters to a .118 batting average against. He is in his 11th season in the Major Leagues with St. Louis (2012-14), Atlanta (2015), Arizona (2016-18), Texas (2019), Chicago (2021), Pittsburgh (2021), San Francisco (2022) and Los Angeles (2023) and he is a combined 39-58 with a 4.15 ERA (372 ER/806.0 IP) and 673 strikeouts in 191 games (132 starts). He was signed by the Dodgers on December 1, 2022.

Kolarek, 34, pitched 1.1 innings with the Dodgers, striking out two batters on Sunday afternoon. He had appeared in 21 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting an 0-3 mark with a 2.18 ERA (5 ER/20.2 IP) and 12 strikeouts. He has pitched in the Majors parts of seven seasons with Tampa Bay (2017-19), Los Angeles (2019-2020, 2023) and Oakland (2021-22) and he is a combined 11-4 with a 3.73 ERA (60 ER/144.2 IP) and 96 strikeouts. The former Maryland Terrapin was originally drafted by the New York Mets in the 101h round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft.
