ANNUAL DODGERS LOVE L.A. COMMUNITY TOUR PRESENTED BY BANK OF AMERICA LAUNCHES MONDAY, AUGUST 22

The Los Angeles Dodgers will hold their 18th annual community service week – Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour presented by Bank of America – from Monday, August 22 – Friday, August 26. This year, the fun-filled week will feature a variety of community events with participation from Dodger players, coaches, alumni and front office staff in addition to Bank of America employees.

“We are looking forward to once again partnering with Bank of America for this impactful community tour,” said Naomi Rodriguez, Vice President, External Affairs, Los Angeles Dodgers “This is an opportunity for the entire Dodgers organization to say thank you to the Los Angeles community and its fans – they mean as much to us as we do to them. We’re excited about the wide range of activities we have planned this year and look forward to creating special memories with all the participants.”

“This is always such a fun time of year when Dodger players and staff visit various neighborhoods to show their gratitude for all the support Angelenos show them. From sports clinics and simply surprising fans to career talks, health events and a school build day, the Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour presented by Bank of America is something my teammates and I always look forward to being part of,” said Raul A. Anaya, President, Bank of America Los Angeles.

The week will kick off with a triple threat on Monday as Freddie Freeman attends three events in three hours during his first community week as a Dodger. Freeman will travel around downtown Los Angeles visiting Garfield High School, to attend a school wide pep rally, followed by a stop at the LAPD Hollenbeck Community Police Station, where he will have lunch with police officers to thank them for their service. He will wrap up the day by visiting Solano Avenue Elementary School where Freddie and his family will help distribute Dodgers’ merch to students in conjunction with UCLA Health providing sunscreen and dermatological resources.

On Tuesday, Dodger Stadium will host a women’s baseball clinic on the field with Ball Girls Baseball Club, a non-profit organization and all-girls baseball league that allows girls to play the game of baseball the same way boys/men play the game. The girls will be able to practice with Dodger players and coaches.

Later in the day, the Dodgers will welcome youth members of Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters, a local community partner serving Black and Brown students, to take part in a Career Day. Young men and women will hear from David Price and several Black front office employees, who will be sharing their experiences as minorities in baseball. The participants will also be receiving tickets and food vouchers for that night’s game.

Wednesday will see two exciting events as the morning begins with Tony Gonsolin, Evan Phillips, and Alex Vesia surprising unknowing customers at a Jack in the Box as they take orders and serve customers. The afternoon will feature Clayton Kershaw and Hanser Alberto at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex where they will unveil a new literacy corner and watch as the students participate in a ping pong tournament.

Thursday will feature a special pizza making session led by California Pizza Kitchen, Long Beach Rescue Mission students, members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach, and former Dodgers player, Andre Ethier. Rounding out the week, Dodgers’ front office staff, former players, and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation staff will partner with Bank of America staff for a day of service at John Muir High School and Early College Magnet on Friday.
