OMYF Supports Take Stock

Thank you to the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) for their $40,000 grant to our Take Stock in Children program.

Funds will be used to support Take Stock, which is a youth mentoring and scholarship program that provides 100 low-income students in Seminole County with mentoring, college success coaching, and other learning opportunities to support their education for all four years of high school. Upon graduation, each student is awarded a 2-year college scholarship.

Thank you for supporting these deserving students! Read more.

The Lasting Impact of a Scholarship

Thanks to our donors, The Foundation is excited to award 56 scholarships to the SCPS Class of 2023 valued at over $169,000! This is the most ever awarded by The Foundation and included recipients from all 10 high schools.

This year, 45% of these scholarships will go to students with financial need who might not otherwise be able to afford college or technical school. By continuing their education and acquiring training after high school these students go on to high-demand, high wage jobs in our community.

The opportunity to receive a scholarship really does make a lasting impact on our students by giving them the opportunity to further their education. One recipient wrote in a thank you letter, “I can’t wait to start my journey and accomplish my goals. There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am!” Thank you to our generous donors who make this such an impactful experience for our seniors! We hope to continue growing this program each year.

Have You Heard?

A huge thank you to Cigna for their $20,000 donation to our SCPS Wellness Center!

The Wellness Center is open to all our employees and it includes workout equipment, fitness classes, and an on-site Nurse Practitioner!

Thank you Cigna for caring about the health and wellness of our employees.

Earlier in May, we had our annual Donor Appreciation Event where we had the opportunity to see many of our donors in person while enjoying drinks, food, and hearing some highlights about the Foundation.

Support from these companies and individuals truly help make an impact on our students. Thank you to all of the donors who joined us for the fun evening!
