A Note From
Zach Flock, Executive Director

As a longtime member of the Erie Playhouse community, it’s great to be home!

My love of theatre began in elementary school when my mom took us to see a high school production of PETER PAN. I was hooked. Theatre is a collaboration, one which extends from the stage into the audience. Whether it’s a Youtheatre adventure like FINDING NEMO JR. or a toe-tapping mainstage musical like JERSEY BOYS, the magic of theatre captures us all.

Theatre moves us, makes us laugh, and transforms us. That is the power of theatre. That’s the power of the Erie Playhouse. From my very first experiences as an audience member and a volunteer, I’ve been blown away by the passion and professionalism poured into every production. I look forward to working with this incredible team of artists and professionals, and the many volunteers who are the backbone of this organization – all working together toward a common vision.

I’m honored to be the 8th person to serve as Executive Director of this organization that has been a staple of our community for over 100 years.  I have only been on the job for a few days, but the Playhouse has been a part of my life since I came to Erie two decades ago. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, stage managing, singing, interning and serving on the board. My wife and I met in the cast of THE PRODUCERS, so it’s safe to say the Erie Playhouse changed my life.

The Erie Playhouse is the anchor of our theatre community. We’re stewards of your theatre, of your donations and your support, and that’s a responsibility I take very seriously. I will always strive to lead with transparency and integrity, and with the entire community in mind.

With this period of transition comes an opportunity to reaffirm who we are and what we stand for. The Playhouse is inclusive, professional, grateful, impactful and passionate. We are united by our mission to educate, entertain, inspire, transform and support communities through theatre. By focusing on our common vision, our shared mission and our core values, we'll build on our rich history and chart a course for an even brighter future.

The Erie Playhouse belongs to all of you – to all of us. It is my sincere hope that when you walk through these doors, you feel safe and welcome, and better yet, I hope you feel at home. This is your Playhouse. This is Erie’s Playhouse. Welcome home.

Thank you all for welcoming me, and I look forward to seeing you soon at your Erie Playhouse!

Oh, what a story. In Belleville, New Jersey, in 1951, Tommy DeVito performed together with his brother Nicky, and their friend Nick Massi, as The Variety Trio. He then meets 16-year-old Frankie Castelluccio, and the rest is history. Together, they rocket toward stardom, selling over 100 million records worldwide as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and being inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.
