Corpus Christi, TX  - The Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) has put into service four medic units (two replacement and two additional) to respond to emergency calls throughout the city. The funding for the purchase of the four medic units was approved by the Mayor and City Council as part of the City’s FY 2022 Adopted Budget.

The four medic units were previously ordered to be built to spec and have now been delivered to the CCFD. The four medic units will be respectively stationed at the following fire stations:

 - Fire Station 2 located at 13421 Leopard Street in City Council District 1
 - Fire Station 9 located at 501 Navigation Boulevard in City Council District 1
 - Fire Station 12 located at 2120 Rand Morgan Road in City Council District 1
 - Fire Station 17 located at 6968 Yorktown Boulevard in City Council District 5

All four medic units are equipped with power stretchers, power loaders for safe patient transport, and new cardiac monitors to transmit EKG readings to the hospital before arrival. Additionally, each of the four medic units will be staffed with Advanced Life Support Paramedics from the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

This action continues the City’s investment in public health and safety and continues to ensure our frontline public safety professionals have the best equipment to perform their job safely and effectively.
