Gateway's Haunted Playhouse, Long Island’s number one rated haunted house, returns for an all-new season of Halloween scares. As a division of The Gateway, Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County, Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse utilizes the numerous theatrical designers and staff at the Gateway - Long Island’s oldest professional theatre. Dozens of professionally trained actors prepare and rehearse each character that inhabits the haunt, giving it a unique, theatrical quality unrivaled on the island. These actors inhabit a carefully crafted, three-dimensional environment created and built by the Gateway’s renowned design and production team. Over 100 people are on hand every evening to ensure the smooth operation of each haunt. Each year, a new theme, path and characters are created, giving patrons a brand new experience as they explore the walkthrough attraction.

The Midway:
The fun begins before the Haunt. Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse features a nightmare carnival on our Midway every haunt night with food, drinks, and attractions. The Midway is our queuing area, so you can sit down with a snack instead of having to stand on line, and it also makes for a perfect waiting area for those not going through the Haunt.

Food & Drink:
Our Fear Garden is open every night, and offers beers on top, and a selection of bottled beer and wine for guests 21 and older. We also serve soft drinks and snacks. Billie Jean’s Grill food truck is present on select nights, with a menu featuring Billie Burgers, Chicken Fingers, Hot Dogs, French Fries, Roasted Corn, Hot Pretzels. Pumpkin Cannollis, Apple Pie Egg Rolls, Churros, Deep Fried Oreos, and other comfort foods.

Attractions:
Be amazed by the skill and artistry of our world renowned fire breather. Visit our fortune teller and discover what your future holds. See if you can survive an attack of the undead at our shooting gallery. Get your own experience of death by stepping into our coffin ride. Or take home a souvenir from our boo-tique.

Kid's Daytime Hours: Family Fun For All
Come one come all, mini witches and warlocks, mini pumpkins and cats, mini monsters and fairies, mini superheroes and bats. Take a stroll through our not-so-scary Halloween adventure, a walk-thru for kids of all ages. Encounter goofy creatures, bewitching tricks, and make some new friends along the way. Swap the chills and thrills of the oh-so-scary for the giggles and squeals of the not-so-scary! Family-friendly tunes complete the atmosphere… there’s even a treat at the end. Debut this year’s costume, if you’d like, and show everyone just how spooky and grim or valiant and prim you can be.

Tickets are $20 per person. Tickets are sold for specific 15 minute entry times. Choose the desired time and please arrive at Gateway no more than 15 minutes before your entry time. Latecomers may need to reschedule for another date or time. No outside food and drinks are permitted.

Recommended for children ages 3 and up and those who might not be ready for Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse at night. Absolutely no newborns or infants permitted for their own safety. No strollers, carriages, or baby carriers of any kind are permitted inside the tour. This is strictly for the safety of you and your child! There are areas in our midway where people not walking through the event can wait for the rest of their group without incurring an entrance fee. Children not walking through must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the nature of the event, we are not wheelchair accessible The price is $20 for every living, breathing creature who enters the tour. This includes children, adults, grandparents, etc. Open 12pm - 4pm

October 26: Glowstick Night. Only a single glowstick to guide you through the haunted house - no lights
