Golden Museum Hires Stephanie Gilmore as Curator

Stephanie Gilmore joined the staff as Golden History Museum & Park Curator starting November 1.

Previously employed for more than seven years as the Colorado Railroad Museum Curator of Collections, Gilmore brings a wealth of Colorado history experience to her new position. She has also worked at Denver Art Museum and the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History.

Trained in anthropology, archaeology, and museum studies at both the University of Denver and the University of California at Berkeley, Gilmore is responsible for the care of 15,000 collection items at Golden History Museum & Park. Additionally, she leads research and exhibit-development efforts at the museum as it approaches its 85th anniversary in 2023. Finally, the long-running collection inventory project is under Gilmore’s direction as museum staff continue to rebuild lost components of the database and carefully account for every single historic object.

Golden History Museum & Park engages and inspires visitors by preserving and sharing Golden’s history.
