EAST HADDAM, Conn. (March 7, 2023) – In 2022, Goodspeed Musicals was the recipient of Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program funding in partnership with area businesses and corporations. The program is designed to provide funding for nonprofit organizations by providing a tax credit to businesses who make cash contributions to these organizations. Goodspeed Musicals has long-standing, and appreciated, corporate support in the community and throughout the state.

Businesses can receive a credit of 100 percent in the case of certain energy conservation programs, as was the case for Goodspeed in 2022. The program falls under the Department of Revenue Services. Goodspeed has the pleasure of announcing the 2022 approved contribution amounts for energy efficiency upgrades, as support from generous corporations and businesses: The Durham Manufacturing Company $5,000.00, The York Hill Trap Rock Quarry Company $1,000.00, ConnectiCare, Inc $7,500.00, Connecticut Light & Power dba Eversource Energy $8,000.00, Webster Bank, N.A. $5,000.00, and an anonymous corporation for $17,500.00.

The NAA is a great way for Connecticut businesses to support local nonprofits like Goodspeed Musicals that makes good business sense. Projects include energy efficiency upgrades to buildings on the Goodspeed campus to reduce heating and cooling expenses, as well as installation and replacement of a new boiler in one of the older actor houses and replacement of two HVAC systems in the production facilities.
