LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson, Secretary Stacy Hurst of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, and Director Scott Simon of The Nature Conservancy of Arkansas will be on hand at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, to commemorate the completion of the Blue Mountain Natural Area parking lot and trailhead.

The parking lot and trailhead at Blue Mountain Natural Area were recently completed, marking a key milestone in the overall effort to connect trails throughout the Maumelle Pinnacles region in Pulaski County.

Blue Mountain Natural Area was acquired last year by the state for conservation with $4 million in state and federal funding and a contribution of $1 million from The Nature Conservancy of Arkansas.

Following remarks from Gov. Hutchinson, Sec. Hurst, and Director Simon, photos can be taken of the trailhead, which is slated to open to the public in the spring of 2023 following further development.
