Topeka – Governor Laura Kelly on June 17th, announced appointments to the following state boards and committee. 

Board of Accountancy

Purpose: To license and regulate certified public accountants (CPA’s). The Board of Accountancy is a regulatory body authorized to carry out the laws and administrative regulations governing CPA’s. The board is disciplinary and has the authority to conduct investigations.

- Aron Dunn, Valley Center

- Lucky DeFries, Topeka (reappointment)

- Julie Spiegel, Manhattan (reappointment)

State Board of Technical Professions

Purpose:  Registers and licenses engineers, architects, surveyors, and landscape architects.

- Wendy Ornelas, Manhattan (reappointment)

- John Lilak, Prairie Village (reappointment)

Capitol Preservation Committee

Purpose of Board:  Approve all proposals for renovation of all areas of the state capitol, the capitol's visitor center and the grounds surrounding the capitol; preserve the proper décor; assure art or artistic displays are historically accurate; oversee the reconfiguration or redecoration of committee rooms.
