Governor Polis Celebrates New Federal Grants to Boost Colorado's Clean Energy Future, Applauds Biden Administration Investment in Clean Energy

BOULDER - On May 16, 2024, Governor Polis celebrated new Department of Energy federal grants awarded to two Colorado companies to support Colorado’s clean energy future through innovative solar projects. These investments will help Colorado reach its climate and clean energy goals, improving air quality and making the state more sustainable.

“Colorado is leading the transition to 100% renewable energy, protecting our air and making life in our beautiful state more sustainable, and I appreciate the Biden Administration's consistent investment in clean energy infrastructure including these extremely promising new technologies being developed right here in Colorado. These new grants support innovative solar research and investments in Colorado, and I am grateful for the Biden Administration's leadership and partnership on this important work. I am excited to see the projects and research completed with these grants,” said Governor Polis.

RCAM Technologies received $600,000 to install solar panels above irrigation channels increasing solar energy production while protecting Colorado’s vital water resources. Brightspot Automation received $1.6 million to develop AI software to detect defections which will help reduce investment risk and lower costs.
