John Fromer will lead an online presentation titled, “Growing Tomatoes from Seed to Harvest” in a webinar hosted by Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, May 9 at 12:00 pm.

John Fromer, Maine Master Gardener Volunteer and Merryspring Program Director, has grown tomatoes from seed at his farm for 25 years.  He specializes in gourmet tomatoes of all different sizes and colors while also growing varieties for canning. John has participated in seed trials for Fedco Seeds and tomato tastings growing over 50 varieties in some years.  This talk will include where to get exotic seeds, soil and planting considerations, tips on caring for tomato plants and when to harvest gourmet tomatoes. If you are a tomato lover, this talk is for you!
