Guilford County Schools - Acting Superintendent to Visit Schools on the First Day

WHAT: Guilford County Schools (GCS) Acting Superintendent Whitney Oakley will visit several schools on Monday, August 29. During her visits, Dr. Oakley will welcome students, staff, and parents as they arrive at school and visit classrooms.

Her schedule is as follows:

-6:45 a.m. arrival at Oak Hill Elementary, 320 Wrightenberry St., High Point. Principal Sonia Marquez will greet her. Dr. Oakley will welcome students, staff, and parents.

-7:45 a.m. arrival at Southwest Middle, 4368 Southwest School Rd., High Point. Principal Arlisa Armond will greet her. Dr. Oakley will welcome students, staff, and parents.

-8:45 a.m. arrival at High Point Central High, 801 Ferndale Blvd., High Point. Principal Mike Hettenbach will greet her. Dr. Oakley will welcome parents and students before visiting classrooms.

-11 a.m., arrival at Doris Henderson Newcomers School, 411 Friendway Rd., Greensboro. Principal Louis Galiotti will greet Dr. Oakley and her former principal, Dr. Doris Henderson. Dr. Oakley attended the school when it was known as Guilford Primary. They will visit classrooms and greet students and teachers.

-3 p.m., arrival at Dudley High, 1200 Lincoln St., Greensboro. The principal is Lise Timmons-McLaughlin. Dr. Oakley will visit classrooms and greet students and teachers.
