The former Erwin Montessori site has a new owner. The Guilford County Board of Education voted to sell the school and surrounding acreage to the Guilford County Board of Commissioners.  

In June 2022, the school board declared the Erwin property, located at 3012 East Bessemer Avenue, as surplus property. It was then offered to the county commissioners, who agreed to purchase the 8.99 acres for $100,000. The school board accepted the offer on Tuesday.  

In April 2018, Erwin Montessori was destroyed by an EF-2 tornado, which also destroyed Hampton Elementary and Peeler Open Elementary.
