GCS Receives National Awards for Communication

The Guilford County Schools (GCS) communications team has earned top honors from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for its work during the 2021-2022 school year.

GCS earned 17 awards overall, including four Awards of Excellence and two Golden Achievement Awards. Golden Achievement Awards recognize exemplary work in all aspects of school public relations, communication, marketing and engagement. “We are incredibly grateful to the National School Public Relations Association for recognizing the great work this team does to inform our parents and celebrate our students,” said Wanda Edwards, director of communications.

The winning entries are as follows:

- Golden Achievement: GCS Choice Showcase 2022

- Golden Achievement: 2021 GCS National Volunteer Week Campaign

- Award of Excellence: GCS Information Ambassador Newsletter

- Award of Excellence: Senior Stories Social Media Campaign

- Award of Excellence: School Bond 2022 Informational Video

- Award of Excellence: Persevering in the Midst of a Pandemic

The school district’s communications team also received Awards of Merit and Honorable Mentions for social media, video and website publications.
