Halloween Weekend At The Haunted Hall

Ventfort Hall will be decorated for Halloween weekend, Friday, October 28 through Monday, October 31, 2021. Guests are invited to wear their Halloween costumes or Halloween themed outfit at any event or visit over the course of the weekend! Visit our haunted Hall adorned with the spookiest of decorations! 

The mansion, which lends itself to the perfect atmosphere for these Halloween happenings, will be open from 10am-4pm on Friday for regular self-guided tour admission, as well as special extended hours for regular self-guided tours from 4 pm-8 pm on Friday evening just for the holiday weekend. At 11pm Friday night, join Robert Oakes, author of Ghosts of the Berkshires, for a late-night edition of his Ghost Tour of the mansion. 

On Saturday, the mansion will be open for regular self guided tours from 10 am-4 pm with free family admission from 4 pm-6 pm geared specifically for kids of all ages. Later that evening, paranormal investigator David Raby will lead a paranormal investigation of the mansion from 7 pm-midnight. Advanced reservations highly recommended for investigation as tickets are limited.  

On Sunday, the house will be open from 10 am-4 pm for regular self-guided tour admission with free family admission from 4pm-6pm geared specifically for kids of all ages. The weekend will conclude with a ghost tour with Robert Oakes at 7 pm on Sunday. 

As a special offering, Ventfort Hall will welcome families to visit the house at no charge on Saturday and Sunday from 4 pm-6 pm. The first floor of the house will be open, with a Halloween themed scavenger hunt for kids with a prize at the end. Enjoy this extra opportunity to wear your Halloween costume and have the perfect photo opportunity to create memories for years to come! Light refreshments will be provided on the back veranda, weather permitting.  

Three special ticketed events are planned for the weekend. Each requires reservations. Masks that cover both the mouth and nose are required. 

David Raby returns Saturday night, October 29, for a ghost hunt from 7 pm to midnight. Non-refundable, non-exchangeable tickets are $38 per person with a reduced rate of $20 for ages 12 – 18 and 19-23 with student ID.  Space is limited. 

On Friday, October 28 and Sunday, October 30, Robert Oakes will conduct ghost tours. Friday’s ghost tour is at 11 pm and the Sunday tour starts at 7 pm. Non-refundable, non-exchangeable tickets are $27 per person. 

Please note that all tickets for the Saturday, October 29th ghost hunt and the Friday and Sunday ghost tours are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. The historical mansion is located at 104 Walker Street in Lenox. 

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council as an important partner of the Lenox Cultural District, one of the five such Berkshire County districts, Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum was built in 1893 for George and Sarah Morgan, the sister of legendary financier J. Pierpont Morgan. 

Self-guided tours of the historic mansion are offered daily, as well as Tea & Talks, such exhibitions as the Bellefontaine Collection, concerts, theater and other programs. This elegant Jacobean-Revival Berkshire “cottage” is open to the public year-round and is available for private rental.  Ventfort Hall, also an Official Project of Save America’s Treasures program sponsored by The White House, has undergone substantial restoration, which continues.
