Hello friends!

Happy Summer! And happy SUMMER READING! Has your kiddo registered yet? Have YOU registered yet? We have summer reading programs for all ages - make it a family affair! More info here.

We have baby chicks! If you've been in the children's room recently, you may have noticed the eggs incubating on the desk. Well, they've hatched!

THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED ON JULY 4.

Programs

Lapsit
Every other Monday at 10am

Join Joanna for a baby storytime on Monday mornings in the auditorium! We have storytime supplies for families to use and keep, so that the kiddos can safely participate in this fun program (i.e. shaker, scarf, song/rhyme handouts). You'll get a storytime bag the first time you attend Lapsit, then bring it with you every Monday!  

Program geared at ages 0-2 (older siblings welcome)

Program will be outdoors when weather is nice! Then, we will meet on the hill next to the library. Bring a blanket to sit on.

Pre-K Storytimers!
Thursdays at 10am

Join Joan for reading adventures at Pre-K Storytimers!! We will read stories, play games, do crafts, and have oodles of fun.

This program geared at children who are 3 to 5 years old, and the program may be held outside during nice weather.

Therapy Dogs

The dogs are back! Sign up for a 15 min session to read to one of our adorable therapy dogs - Dottie, Tosh, Finn, or Maverick.

Little Explorers
Monday, July 11 and 25 at 10am

Bring your little one in to explore some new types of activities and materials with other little ones.

Ages 0-2, but older siblings welcome.

Jump & Jam with Joanna!
Wednesdays at 11:30am

Join Joanna for a morning of dance, music, and fun! Bring your singing voice and your dance moves and get ready to jam.

For children up to age 10. Registration is appreciated.

Summer Reading Help

Sometimes finding the right book for summer reading and getting started can be hard! Come by the Children's room and we can help you find the perfect book for you. If you want, a librarian can help you get started by sitting to read with you for 10 minutes.

Drag Kings, Queens, and Friends Storytime
Saturday, July 16 at 11am

Storytime with Drag Kings, Queens, and Friends, is a story hour featuring a revolving cast of beloved local Boston performers. Storytime with Drag Kings, Queens, and Friends is a lively pop-up story session with, you guessed it, drag performers and sparkly friends!

For all children and families. Registration is not required but appreciated.

Seriously Slimed
Friday, July 15 at 1pm

Join Amanda in making your very own slime to take home with you!

Ages 6-11. Registration is required

Make a Rainforest
Monday, July 18 at 11am

Join Joanna in making your very own Rainforest. We will learn about the Rainforest and then plant our own in containers to take home with you!

Ages 6-11. Registration is required.

Cookie Decorating
Thursday, July 21 at 11am

Join Mindy for a cookie decorating class! We will be decorating a bug catching cookie set. You leave with delicious (and beautiful) cookies.

Ages 6-11. Registration is required.

Family LEGO Challenge
Saturday, July 23 from 10-4

Bring the whole family to work on a lego challenge together. Once completed the creations will be on display for the week following in the Children's Room.

Registration not required.

Children's Yoga
Monday, July 25 at 1pm

Get ready for some movement, relaxation, and breathing in fun children's yoga class. Wear your comfy clothes and get ready to move.

Ages 6-11. Registration is required.

Stuffed Animal Campout
Tuesday, July 26 at 7pm

Join us for fun campout activities with your favorite stuffie! We'll do crafts, sing camp songs, read stories and have a snack! Then you'll leave your animals "at camp" for the night and pick them up the next day.

Parents please be sure to explain that the animals will be left at the Library - if it is needed to sleep, maybe pick a different friend to leave with us **

Ages 3-8. Registration is required.

Animal Adventures
Wednesday, July 27 at 6:30pm

Ed and Brenda Laquidara formed Animal Adventures with the mission to provide a home to unwanted and unable to be cared for animals, while educating the public about these animals. Come and meet their rescued animal friends including  snakes, a hedgehog, a chincilla, lizards and more! This fun and educational program is for the whole family and one you won't want to miss!

Camp Crafts: Gimp Keychains
Thursday, July 28 at 1pm

Join Joan and Amanda for our Camp Craft Series! This week we will be making Gimp Keychains.

Ages 5-11. Registration is required.

Coding Camp
Friday, July 29 at 11am

Do you like coding or want to learn more about what is is and how to code? Join Joanna for a fun morning of trying different coding activities and games!

Ages 8-11. Registration is required.

Creation Station
Tuesdays at 10am

Experiment with some new types of art, materials, and styles.

Wear old clothes--sometimes we get messy!

Ages 3-5
