Last Chance to Get your Tickets for Sunday's Lecture!
The 60th Anniversary of the  Building of the Empire State Plaza

This Sunday we hope to see you at the New York State Museum for a special panel talk looking back 60 years to when the plans for the Empire State Plaza were approved, leading to the destruction of an entire neighborhood. This lecture will explore the past of the area, highlighting some of the stories of the families and businesses that called it home, led by University at Albany Professor David Hochfelder. Kevin Hicks, a construction worker from the Plaza, will talk about his experiences, as will Former NYS Assemblymember Jack McEneny. We also want to look to the future of the area and how recent events may impact this controversial part of the city. This part of the discussion with be led by Scott Townsend of the Albany Riverfront Collaborative. Paul Grondahl will be moderating.

All HAF members will be invited to an exclusive pre-lecture reception at the NYS Museum at 1 pm next to the auditorium

Many thanks to our sponsors and partners: James Gaughan and Keith Lee, Society of Architectural Historians, and the NYS Writers Institue
