Summer Reading 2023: All Together Now
Monday, May 22-Sunday, August 6
Sign up at homewoodpubliclibrary.org/sr
(Ages 12-18) Sign up online beginning May 22. For every three books or audiobooks you check out in-person or online, you earn a chance to enter the weekly drawing for a gift bag. The more entries you have, the more chances to win! Entries will be kept throughout the Summer, so each one will be a chance to win the grand prize drawing on August 7. Teens can also submit short book reviews (at least 2 sentences) to the Teen Librarian at [email protected]  for a chance to win a prize! Every book review will also give the submitter one hour of volunteer time.

Teen Coffee and Canvas

Saturday, July 1, from 2-4 p.m. in Room 109.

Teen Ani-Marathon 2023

(6th-12th Grade) Love anime, manga, or anything Japanese-related? Then join us for a Teen Ani-Marathon! A marathon of anime shows, manga book discussions, and yummy snacks. Open to rising 6th-12th graders only. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org/events.

Teen Theatre Thursdays

Thursday, July 6 & 27, from 4-5 p.m. in Round Auditorium

(6th-12th Grade) This bi-monthly program will focus on teaching the performing arts to aspiring teen thespians with assistance from the Red Mountain Theatre. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

(6th-12th Grade) The Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer group of 6th-12th graders who are dedicated to serving the Homewood Public Library. Anime Art Academy

Friday, July 7 & 21, from 2-3 p.m. in Room 109

(6th-12th Grade) Kane Bourgeois is here to teach you about drawing characters in an anime/cartoon style! Learn the basics of character design, color theory, and more. All supplies will be provided for traditional art, but feel free to bring your digital art equipment (iPad, tablet, etc). Register for each session online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

A Challenger Emerges - Smash Tournament

Saturday, July 8, from 1-3 p.m. in Large Auditorium.

(6th-12th Grade) Choose your character! The Homewood Public Library would like to invite all those who think they can throw down in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros Ultimate game. Magic: the Gathering for Teens

Tuesday, July 11, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 102

(6th-12th Grade) Interested in learning about Magic: the Gathering? Each game represents a battle between wizards known as “planeswalkers”, who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures depicted on individual Magic cards to defeat their opponents. Teen Summer Movie Series

Teen Pottery Class

This two-part program for teens will let teens experiment with making their own pottery creation. The first class will be dedicated to creating their pottery and the second class will allow teens to decorate their creations. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Sumi-e Ink Wash Painting

Monday, July 31, from 2-4 p.m. in Large Auditorium.
