Black History Month Programs

Join Mecklenburg County’s David B. Waymer Recreation Center and the Town of Huntersville Parks & Recreation department every Monday, the month of February in celebration of Black History Month! Each Monday will feature a different Black History Program. These programs are FREE to the public. All ages are welcome to join. 

The program line up is as follows:

February 6, 2023 – 12pm Showing of “Harriett” and “Soul” at 5:30pm Dellwood Center - 508 Dellwood Drive Huntersville, NC 28078 

February 13, 2023 – 2:30pm: Story book reading by Charlotte Meck Library Dellwood Center - 508 Dellwood Drive Huntersville, NC 28078 

February 20, 2023 – 2:30pm: Special Performance by Drums 4 Life David B. Waymer Rec. Center - 14008 Holbrooks Rd, Huntersville, NC 

February 27, 2023 – 2:00pm: Black History Bingo/Trivia program David B. Waymer Rec. Center -14008 Holbrooks Rd, Huntersville, NC

The Town of Huntersville turns 150!
The Town of Huntersville is celebrating 150 years as a municipality in 2023. We have a full year of activities planned, including concerts, promotions, historical exhibits, and so much more. It's a Sesquicentennial Celebration 150 years in the making!

Join us at the Huntersville Recreation Center from 2 - 4 p.m., on February 25 to celebrate the Town's 150th Birthday!

Activities will include: face painting, music, balloon twisters, variety of crafts, photo booth, video booth, a 3000 BALLOON DROP, dance party, birthday cake, CAKE A COMMISSIONER.

The event is FREE to attend and all generations are encouraged to attend.
