Join us as Jack Straw artist Mario Layne Fabrizio and his band The Star Gondola continues their monthly events at Jack Straw, coinciding with the production of their debut album through the Jack Straw Artist Support Program. (Check out the first installment here!)

The Star Gondola includes Julian Weisman (bass, vocals), Carlos Snaider (guitars, vocals, synths) and Mario (drums, vocals, synths). Joining the bill is Battery, a solo drums and electronics project performed by LA-based drummer, composer, and creative coder Jacob Richards.

Jack Straw's audio workshops with engineer Tom Stiles are the perfect opportunity to improve your studio skills or get that first introduction to the world of audio recording and editing.

Intro to Digital Audio Editing: Tuesday, March 5, 6-9pm

Learn the basic skills of recording and editing sound with audio editing software.

Microphone Workshop: Thursday, March 7, 6-10pm

Fee: $75 (In person at Jack Straw)

A detailed look at microphone types, pickup patterns, placement and use, both for live and studio applications.

The Tokio Florist Project is an immersive video and sound installation that features artist Susie Kozawa exploring the resonance of her childhood home, the historic monument Tokio Florist, with instruments she makes out of found objects.
