Blackstone Library Director's Report July 2022
Greetings! My name is Katy McNicol, and I am the new Director at the James Blackstone Memorial Library, taking over after Karen Jensen’s retirement in June. I will look familiar to many of you, as I've worked at the Blackstone Library for almost 12 years, and have gotten to work on many different projects with many different people. Recently, I was part of the wonderful birthday bash that celebrated 125 years of Blackstone serving the Branford community.

As we move into the future, I want the Blackstone to build on its solid foundation of service, continuing to evolve and change as our community changes, becoming an even more vibrant, dynamic and welcoming library. I see the Blackstone as a beacon for all, drawing you in and giving you many reasons to stay.

I look forward to working with our excellent library staff, trustees, Friends of the Blackstone Library, library volunteers, the Town of Branford, and our wonderful community partners and organizations in the coming years to help make this vision a reality. The Blackstone Library is such a treasure in Branford, and Branford is such a great community, I’m so excited to see where we can go from here.

I welcome any comments or questions you may have. Please reach out by phone or email (203-488-1441 x 312 or [email protected]) or come by in person. Stop in to say "hi" and see all of the wonderful things the Blackstone has to offer! I can’t wait to meet you.

- Katy McNico
