Arts and Entertainment

December 14, 2023

From: Kala Art Institute

Date & Time: Friday, December 15, 11am-12pm
Location: Milvia/ Addison Windows outside at 2100 Milvia St, Berkeley, CA 94704

Join us for an artist reception for a new installation at the Milvia/ Addison Windows by NIAD artist Carlota Rodriguez and NIAD studio facilitator and Kala Fellowship alumni, Emma Spertus. Stop by and say hello! Special thanks to visiting curator Jun Igarashi for curating this exhibition. Inspired by an earlier exhibition Through My Eyes, 2020, this Milvia Windows installation creates further conversation between Emma and Carlota about their creative art making approaches, colorful and playful abstractions, and rhythmic compositions and construction.

Kala is excited to collaborate with NIAD. Since 1982, NIAD Art Center has promoted creative expression, independence, dignity, and community integration for adult artists with disabilities. Through its Richmond-based and Virtual Studio and Gallery programming, designed by and with NIAD artists, NIAD redefines contemporary art as an inclusive, accessible place for all.
