Artist-in-Residence Application due Oct 15th/ Print Public Application due Nov 18th

The deadline is approaching to apply to become an artist-in-residence. Start your application Oct 15th before 11:59pm PST and you have until Oct 17th to hit submit.

More exciting news - we have launched a new call for artists for Print Public's municipal artist-in-residence program in collaboration with the City of Berkeley. We're looking for Bay Area artists to work as cultural strategists within the City of Berkeley's Planning Department. In addition to working at the City of Berkeley, selected artists will receive $9,000 (and an additional $1,000 for materials) and a 16-month residency at Kala with 24/7 access to our printmaking studio, digital lab, and other facilities. Welcome to New Fellows Rayelle Gardner and Anna Scherbyna

We're extending a warm welcome to Rayelle Janell Gardner, 2022-23 Fellow and Anna ScherbynaCEC Artslink Fellow. Rayelle is in residence at Kala for next three months and Anna will be at Kala through November 16th. Rayelle is a black queer image-based artist from NY. More about Rayelle's practice will be featured in the announcement of all of incoming2022-23 Fellows coming soon. Anna is a multi-disciplinary artist and cultural activist from Ukraine whose art practice draws on the current socio-political situation and examines the political potential of media such as installation and video, drawing and painting. CEC Artslink establishes a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and expertise between artists, arts organizations and the local community and we're so honored to be a partnering organization.

The HEAR HERE mobile community billboard truck is a vehicle for empowerment and understanding, designed to gather stories, share memories, and encourage neighborhood interaction. With a large digital display screen, a sound system, and an eye-catching analogue display board, the Hear Here truck is visiting your North Oakland neighborhood!
