Southern California's Largest Memorial Day Event – And It's Free!

LA Fleet Week is an annual, multi-day celebration of our nation's Sea Services held on the LA Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles over the extended Memorial Day Weekend.

Events include:
Active duty ship tours
Military displays and equipment demonstrations
Live entertainment
Neighborhood Activations
Downtown San Pedro and Wilmington Welcome Parties
Aircraft flyovers
Galley Wars culinary cook-off competition between Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force and Army teams
Competitions including Dodgeball and Military Has Talent

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Navy Region Southwest Brass Band

LA Fleet Week comes to The Grove!

Join us by the fountain near the movie theatre for a flag raising ceremony and a performance by Navy Region Southwest Brass Band.

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: 1st Marine Division Band

Come check out the 1st Marine Division Band at Bob Hope Patriotic Hall this evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

5:00 pm - 10:00 pm: West Harbor After Party

Get ready. The brand new West Harbor is hosting the first official LA Fleet Week After Party at West Harbor.

Come celebrate by the sea at Berth 84/6th Street with food trucks, beer + cocktails, and a live DJ! (Event is 21+)

12:00 pm - 3:00 pm: US Navy at 6th Street Bridge

Join 500 US Navy sailors as they march across iconic 6th Street Viaduct in Downtown LA.

The bridge will be closed to traffic for this poignant Memorial Day salute.

Stick around for the Marine Brass Band and food trucks.

The City of Fullerton welcomes LA Fleet Week with a flag raising ceremony, featuring the Troy High School Band and 1st Division Marine Band.

Marines and sailors in attendance will have lunch, then go on to Downtown Disney at 2 PM

10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Active Duty Ship Tours at Main Expo Footprint at the Battleship IOWA

We've got active Navy ships open for tours!

A few need-to-know points regarding ship tours:

No reservations or tickets needed to tour active duty ships. Tours are free and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone wishing to tour an active duty ship will need to come to the main event EXPO to board a free ship tour shuttle. Ship tour lines are inside the EXPO footprint and are open daily from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Friday-Monday, May 24-27, 2024.

Ship tour lines will close promptly at 3 pm.

The main event EXPO is located at 250 S. Harbor Blvd., San Pedro, CA 90731 – directly adjacent to the Battleship IOWA.

Please wear closed-toed shoes. For your safety, flip flops and high-heeled shoes are strongly discouraged.

Battleship IOWA served our country proudly in WWII, Korea, and the Cold War. Today, this historic U.S. Navy ship is an iconic Los Angeles landmark, considered one of the region's best outdoor museums for families and visitors of all ages.

Come aboard to follow in the footsteps of generations of IOWA sailors, track the movements of our mischievous mascot Vicky the Dog, and learn why the ship is known as "Battleship of Presidents," "The Grey Ghost," and "The Big Stick." Add one of our behind-the-scenes guided tours to explore areas long off-limits to the public and hear first-hand accounts of service, commitment, and bravery.

Enjoy the museum with both in-person and virtual tour options. The in-person offerings comply with current health department guidelines for Covid-19.

A day on this marvel of engineering will create memories that you and your family will treasure for years to come.

A sailor who's a swing dancer. A soldier doing stand-up. A mandolin-playing Marine. A Coastie crooning smoky blues. A ventriloquist veteran.

What do they have in common? We're putting them on the LA Fleet Week main EXPO stage to strut their stuff in front of our celebrity judges and an audience of thousands.

Join us at the LA Fleet Week main stage from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM to cheer on some new talent!

11:00 am - 2:30 pm: Memorial Day Tribute at Point Fermin Lighthouse
Point Fermin Lighthouse welcomes LA Fleet Week with a Dixieland band and lighthouse tours.

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Concert for the Troops at Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club
Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club welcomes service personnel and the general public to an evening concert by Randy Coleman + Emily V.

12:00 pm - 2:30 pm: Galley Wars at the Main Expo Presented by FOX Entertainment

Get ready for Galley Wars presented by FOX Entertainment!

This annual cooking competition pits teams from visiting ships and units against one another for the coveted LA Fleet Week Galley Wars championship. This year's contest will feature competing service branches: Navy vs. Marines vs. Coast Guard vs. Army.

The teams utilize ingredients that can be found on their ships or in what they'd have in the field and supplement them with a small budget of items locally sourced.

Each team is judged by a panel of celebrity and executive level chefs who choose the champion.

Are you ready for some DODGEBALL? FOX Sports presents a double elimination tournament Sunday, May 26th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

In 2022 the Marines earned the title for this fan-favorite event with their team, "Average Marines," and in 2023 Army rolled to victory. Who will take it home this year – Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, first responders, or the underdog home team from Battleship IOWA?

11:00am to 1:00pm: LA FLeet Week Comes To Venice Beach

LA Fleet Week is an opportunity for the American public to meet their sailors, marines, and other sea services personnel. During Fleet Week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.

Join them in Venice Beach! The sailors and marines will help in a beach clean up effort, which will be followed by a flag raising ceremony and a concert from the 1st Division Marine Band.

1800 Oceanfront Walk in Venice near the skate park.

The ceremony will be followed by a restaurant crawl and the band will play again at 1:00 PM near Townhouse Teddy's and Venice Tacos.

Wilmington-CA

5:00pm to 8:30pm: Wilmington Welcome Party

The City of Wilmington will open its beautiful Banning House Museum to welcome LA Fleet Week from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM.

The reception will include hosted food and drinks, music – including the 1st Marine Division Band, and self-guided tours of the historic Banning residence.
