Learn About Fireworks Safety At City Community Centers

Stockton Fire Department, Stockton Police Department & County Task Force Offer Fireworks Safety Demonstrations

Stockton, Calif. – The Stockton Fire Department, Stockton Police Department, and the San Joaquin County Fireworks Task Force will host community fireworks safety
demonstrations at City of Stockton Community Centers to provide information and education about the proper handling and disposal of Safe and Sane Fireworks; the dangers of illegal fireworks; how to report illegal fireworks in your neighborhood; and changes to the City of Stockton fireworks ordinance. All demonstrations will begin at 6:30 p.m.:

- Tuesday, June 28 – Arnold Rue Community Center, 5758 Lorraine Ave.
- Wednesday, June 29 – Seifert Community Center, 128 W. Benjamin Holt Dr.
- Thursday, June 30 – Stribley Community Center, 1760 E. Sonora St.
- Friday, July 1 – Van Buskirk Community Center, 734 Houston Ave.

All members of the community are invited to bring family, friends, and neighbors to any of these sessions. Only fireworks with the State Fire Marshal Safe and Sane Seal are permitted in the City of Stockton. Safe and Sane fireworks are a category of fireworks that do not shoot up into the air or leave the ground.

Sale of Safe and Sane Fireworks is restricted to vendors permitted by the City and may only be used: June 28, from noon – 11:00 p.m.; and June 29 – July 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. All other fireworks and fireworks used outside of these dates and times are illegal.

Larger fireworks displays are only allowable with a special permit obtained by the Stockton Fire Department.
