The Live Well Foundation, a 501-C3 non-profit, was established in 2019 to fund inspiring sustainable initiatives that enhance the health and wellness of the South Lake community. The Foundation focus is to bring much needed healthcare and healthy lifestyle programs to serve local residents.

The Live Well Foundation recently awarded New Beginnings of Central Florida, a faith-based 501-C3 non-profit with a grant that will allow their Case Managers to become more efficient through training that results in Certified Florida Behavioral Health. More and more societal problems are occurring and better identity of the behavioral problem with successful solutions are needed. This training will help Case Managers to be more aware of the behavioral issues and recommend the best services and agencies to serve the resident. Over the past 16 years, New Beginnings has served those individuals and families experiencing or facing homelessness. Executive Director Steve Smith, says, “The need for more advanced training is needed to address the growing behavioral health problems. New Beginnings is very thankful that the Live Well Foundation of South Lake recognized this need and awarded the necessary funding for New Beginnings Case Managers to become state certified that will result in a healthier community.”

New Beginnings believes that those individuals and families who want to transform their life can do so, with the many resources they are always ready to provide. They provide free counseling, life skills, education, financial literacy, access to a computer and job preparedness training, all of which leads to a path of stable employment and affordable housing. They continue to prove that needy people who have suffered from unfortunate circumstances in their lives, can recover, become sustainable and succeed. The mission of New Beginnings of Central Florida remains to empower people to live a responsible life through our Hands Up Program.”

Live Well Foundation of South Lake County Executive Director, Donna Kirtland noted, “The awarded proposal will improve mental health here in South Lake and align with the Foundation’s mission to inspire sustainable initiatives that enhance the health and wellness of the South Lake Community.”

New Beginnings of Central Florida still seeks volunteers, donations, and community support. They serve to empower people to live a responsible life and to be self-sufficient.
