 - The Lowe’s Foundation will award Palm Beach State College $1,000,000 in a check presentation. The funds will support the College’s innovative skilled trades training program and expand workforce development opportunities in the construction trades in Palm Beach County. The grant is one of nearly $8 million in Gable Grants from the Lowe’s Foundation given to just a handful of schools across the country as part of its larger five-year, $50 million commitment to help prepare 50,000 people for skilled trades careers.

 - Palm Beach State College (PBSC) will use the funds to expand its training facilities by creating the Construction Trades Center for Workforce Innovation on the Lake Worth campus. The center will provide simulated construction job site conditions, offering “real world” experiences for trades students in a state-of-the-art smart home and office suite.
