Hispanic Heritage Month is almost here!

Celebremos! Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off on Friday, September 15 — and we are so excited. We have tons of events planned for adults and children, including dance performances and bilingual storytimes!

Also, don't miss one of our biggest events. On Saturday, September 30, come enjoy an energizing performance by award-winning composer and classical/flamenco style guitarist Gladius!

Marinera Peruana! Peruvian Dance Performance

On Saturday, September 16, come experience marinera, a partner dance born of Spanish and Andean roots that's well known across Latin America. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the folkloric dance group Marinera en el Mundo Florida will present two special dances for us. You don't want to miss it!

Bilingual Storytime Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

On Monday, September 18, join Ms. Claudia to enjoy stories, or cuentos, in Spanish together! These bilingual stories aim to make new connections with languages and spark children’s imaginations. For families with children up to age 5. Space is limited, and in-person sign-up begins in KidSpace at 1:30 p.m.

National Voter Registration Day

On Tuesday, September 19, come celebrate Voter Registration Day by registering to vote, updating your address, or applying for a replacement card here at the library. It’s quick and easy! You fill out the form, and we’ll mail it in for you. Online forms will also be available. Visit any library service desk to get started.

Learn to Make a Logo With Affinity Designer

On Thursday, September 21, attend this program to learn about Affinity Designer and how you can use it to make a logo. If you want to find an alternative to Adobe Illustrator and are curious about graphic design, then this is the course for you! Intermediate computer skills and registration are required. For ages 16 and up.

Tarot 101 Workshop

Ever wanted to learn how to read Tarot cards or learn what the individual cards mean? Come by one of our quarterly workshops with local Tarot Grandmaster Christiana Gaudet. Each participant who comes to the event will be able to practice on their own set of Tarot cards, while supplies last.
